How Digiclap Technologies Private Limited collects and uses personal information in Commuhnity.
This Privacy Policy explains how Digiclap Technologies Private Limited (“Digiclap”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, stores, and shares personal information when you use Commuhnity and related websites or apps (the “Service”).
This is a starter policy intended for launch readiness and should be reviewed by legal counsel for alignment with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable Indian laws.
1. Information we collect
- Account data: name, email, phone (if provided), password hashes, role, and society/flat associations.
- Society operations data: billing records, notices, poll responses, complaints, visitor logs, vehicle details, documents, marketplace listings, and similar content entered by admins or residents.
- Technical data: device/browser information, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, logs, and cookies or similar technologies needed for authentication and security.
- Support communications: messages you send to support@commuhnity.com or via contact forms.
2. How we use information
- To provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- To authenticate users and enforce role-based access within societies
- To generate bills, notices, and other society workflows you request
- To communicate about product updates, security notices, or support
- To detect abuse, prevent fraud, and protect the Service
- To comply with legal obligations
3. Legal bases / purposes
We process personal data to perform the contract for providing Commuhnity, for legitimate interests in securing and improving the Service, and where required by law. Where consent is required for a specific processing activity, we will request it.
4. Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We may share information with:
- Society administrators for data that belongs to that society’s operations (for example, resident contact details needed for billing or notices).
- Service providers who host, process, or support the Service under contractual confidentiality and security obligations.
- Authorities when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security.
5. Retention
We retain personal data for as long as needed to provide the Service, meet legal/accounting requirements, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Society administrators may control much of the operational content within their tenant. When an account or society is deleted, we delete or anonymise personal data within a reasonable period, unless retention is required by law.
6. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organisational measures appropriate to the nature of the data (including access controls and encrypted transport). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please use strong passwords and protect your devices.
7. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, or deletion of your personal data, or withdraw consent where processing is consent-based. Residents should first contact their society administrator for society-managed records. You may also email support@commuhnity.com.
8. Children
The Service is intended for society administration and adult residents/authorised household members. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without appropriate authorisation.
9. International transfers
Data may be processed on servers or by providers located in India or other jurisdictions. Where transfers occur, we take steps designed to provide appropriate protection consistent with applicable law.
10. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use of the Service after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy where permitted by law.
